The Sources page

How to use the Sources page — Saved, Trends, Suggested, Readwise, Calls, and Top Hits — to gather material and turn it into post ideas.

Sources is where Wren gathers the raw material for your next post: what's trending, what you've been reading, calls you've had, and ideas Wren has surfaced for you. Open it from the sidebar. The page has six tabs — Saved, Trends, Suggested, Readwise, Calls, and Top Hits — and it opens on Saved by default.

Every item can be turned into a post idea, and your sources inform Wren's suggestions in the background.

The tabs are ordered by plan, so the lanes your plan includes come first: Saved is on every plan, Trends and Suggested come with Flight, and Readwise, Calls and Top Hits come with Soar. A lane your plan doesn't include shows a locked card naming the plan that unlocks it. If you've had that plan before, anything already imported stays readable — see Plans and billing.

Saved

This is your manual reading list — articles you've deliberately set aside. There are two ways to add to it:

  1. Paste a URL. Drop an article link into the box at the top of the tab and click Save (or press Enter). Wren pulls in the title and details for you.
  2. Use the Wren browser extension. While reading any page, use the extension's Save to Wren action to add it without leaving the page.

Each saved article is scored for fit (more on scores below), and you can turn any of them into a post idea.

Trends

Trends surfaces topics that are gaining attention right now, pulled from Hacker News, Techmeme, and Google News. Use it to spot timely subjects worth weighing in on before the moment passes.

Trend cards carry the same controls as your other sources — a status picker, idea creation, and fit scores. One difference: on the Trends tab the third score is Trending, rather than Timeliness. Trends are time-sensitive, so they auto-archive after about 10 days if you don't act on them.

Suggested

The Suggested tab shows ideas Wren has generated for you — angles you're well-placed to write about, based on your profile, audience, and recent posts. These suggestions sit here as candidates, not as committed ideas, so you can review them on your own time and decide what's worth pursuing.

When you find one you like, use Add to Ideas to promote it to your Idea Bank. From there it works like any other idea — you can refine it in a chat with Wren and develop it into a post.

Suggestions that don't interest you can be dismissed; they won't come back. Wren keeps up to ten suggestions live at a time; the nightly run tops the list up once you've cleared three or more slots.

Readwise

If you use Readwise Reader, connect it to bring your reading into Wren. You'll find two kinds of items here:

  • Tagged — articles you tag wren inside Readwise Reader. These are sticky and stay until you act on them.
  • Suggested — AI-picked articles from your saved Readwise library, refreshed daily. Suggested items expire after about two weeks if you don't act on them.

To get started, connect Readwise in Settings → Connected Accounts → Readwise. Once connected, Wren syncs automatically every day; the Sync now button pulls fresh items on demand. To add more, just tag a document wren in Reader.

Calls

The Calls tab brings your meeting transcripts into Wren as a source of post ideas. Connect a recorder (Fathom, Fireflies, or Granola) in Settings → Connected Accounts → Recorder, and your calls start appearing here after each meeting.

Each call card shows the title, date, and a fit score, and the side panel gives you:

  • The full transcript, organized by speaker, so you can find the moments worth writing about.
  • Suggested angles — Wren proposes specific ideas drawn from the call, which you can promote directly to your Idea Bank with one click.
  • New idea — write your own angle on the call and promote it as an idea.
  • A chat where you can ask Wren questions about what was discussed or brainstorm post angles together.

When you promote an idea from a call and develop it into a post, Wren automatically draws on the full transcript while you draft — so you can write the whole story without pasting anything back in.

The default view shows the calls most worth writing about. Use the toolbar to switch to all calls, sort, or filter.

To control which calls appear, set exclusion rules in Settings → Connected Accounts → Recorder: enter keywords to block calls whose titles match, or turn on the toggle to skip any call with no title.

You can also send transcripts from tools Wren doesn't connect to natively. See Send call transcripts from any tool for how to wire up a custom inbound.

Top Hits

Top Hits surfaces your best-performing published posts — the ones that beat your own baseline on impressions, engagement, or follower growth — with concrete suggestions for turning them into something new.

Each hit card shows a ranking badge that links directly to the post on LinkedIn so you can see the numbers behind its spot. Wren proposes up to four repurpose angles per hit: a new format, updated data, a counter-take on its own argument, or an expanded section. Every angle is grounded in a quote from the original post. Promote an angle to your Idea Bank with one click, then develop it from there. You can also dismiss any card you don't want to revisit; dismissals are permanent.

A post typically needs about six weeks after publishing before it can qualify — enough time for its performance numbers to settle. Wren refreshes the list nightly and shows up to ten hits at a time.

Top Hits requires the Wren browser extension to be installed and connected, with enough post performance data synced for Wren to compute your personal baseline.

Working with items

Most tabs share the same basic controls:

  • Scores — each item shows ratings out of 10: You (how well it fits your interests), Audience (how relevant it is to your readers), and a third score that varies by tab (Timeliness for saved reading, Trending for trends, relevance for calls). Hover a score for the reasoning.
  • Status — set an item to track where it stands (for example: New, To Ideate, Has Idea, or Dismissed).
  • New idea — write your own angle and save it straight to your Idea Bank, linked back to the source.
  • Suggested ideas — if Wren has proposed angles for an item, they appear as chips you can promote with one click.
  • Open — view the original in a new tab.

Use search, filters, and saved views in the table toolbar to focus on what matters most.
