Our mission
We believe trust is grown, not generated by AI.
Wren is a writing collaborator for LinkedIn. It uses AI to fight the slop, not add to it.

So why are we building this now?
1
Building got cheap, so the product stopped being the differentiator.
Anyone can ship in a weekend.
2
Entrepreneurship is exploding.
More companies than ever, more creativity, more good being built. And more noise to cut through.
3
The products that win are the ones that earn attention.
Writing in public is how builders earn it: it is why someone chooses you over the one beside you.
4
But busy people hand the writing to AI, and what comes back is slop.
Average by definition. A volume race you lose by entering.
We believe one defensible position remains: going deeper into what is only yours. That is the moment Wren is built for. It makes showing up sustainable, keeps the writing yours, and helps you find your audience.
The founding story
I built Wren for myself first.
I co-founded Perch at 22 out of MIT and spent eight years building it: 500 investor pitches, 480 no's, three months from dead at one point, and eventually an acquisition by Catapult Sports in 2025.
Running Perch taught me something I did not expect: writing in public pays. It never showed up in a dashboard. It showed up in passing comments. “I really liked that post.” “I saw you added this customer.” Over time those comments compounded into customers, a network, and trust that traveled with me.
Writing in public pays. It never showed up in a dashboard.
When I left Catapult, I had eight years of things worth saying about starting and running a company, a goal of being known for candor about what it is actually like, and no time to say it. The AI drafts I produced to close that gap did not sound like me. And the tools were scattered: ideas in one app, drafts in another, an AI chat in a third, and nothing telling me whether any of it worked.
Wren is the tool I built to fix that. Then I discovered other people needed it too.

Where we stand
“Isn't this just more AI?”
Fair question. The problem was never the model. The problem is asking AI to invent the idea, the evidence, the structure, and the voice all at once. That produces something that could have come from anyone, and readers can tell.
The answer is not to write everything by hand and lose on volume, and not to concede the feed. It is to aim better AI squarely at the places lazy AI fails: a voice profile learned from your own writing, a workflow built to keep asking until you have said something only you could have said, and a critic you can invoke to catch the generic before your readers do. Every post written that way is one less piece of slop, and one more reason to trust a real person.
Our pricing reflects our mission
The people who most need to earn trust in public are the ones least able to pay to find out whether it works for them. Money should never be the reason you stop before the trust compounds.
So a free tier is part of the plan. Our mission is to fight AI slop on LinkedIn by making it easier for anyone to publish well-crafted, genuine, original writing. If what we help people build is trust, paywalling all of it works against the mission.
On the free tier, Wren itself costs nothing. Wren runs on OpenRouter, and you bring your own OpenRouter API key, so you pay the model provider directly and see and control exactly what you spend. We take no markup and sell no credits. Metering AI by the bucket is what pushes tools toward volume over substance, and that is the thing we are against.
We take the friction out of writing. We do not take the writing out of you.
You have the expertise. You don't have the evenings. Wren turns what you know into posts that sound like you, so the time you spend builds trust instead of noise.
